Students are required to attend portfolio reviews at the end of their 3rd, 6th, 9th, and 12th quarter. Students will be informed that they must attend portfolio reviews when they take classes earmarked for the announcement. These classes have been selected from logical points in the curriculum grid. At each milestone, student should organize their portfolios to feature key projects from classes they have taken in the past three-four quarters. Preferably, students have taken classes following the advised order of the curriculum grid for their program.

The portfolios are assessed in relationship to the standards and expectations of the school, as described in the assessment rubrics. For each level of portfolio assessment, the criterion differ, to reflect the level of the student. For instance, 3rd quarter students are assessed on foundational skills, whereas 12th quarter students are assessed on their final portfolio show.

Since there is a portfolio requirement to enter the Game Art and Design program at the Art Institute of Tampa, the 3rd quarter assessment is, for some students, also an assessment for transfer and admittance into the program.

The portfolio review does not affect student GPA, but rather allows the school to provide students feedback about their progress through a particular program of study. It also allows the school to assess quality control in general, for institutional accreditation purposes.

6th Quarter Criterion:

9th Quarter Criterion:

  • Concept and Process
  • Target Audience Consideration

12th Quarter Criterion:
  • Promotional Material
  • Flatbook/ Website
  • Demo Reel
